Obituary for Antonia Rosas (Rodriguez)

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister

Antonia Rosas, a longtime resident of Lowell, died at home on June 12, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer, her loving family by her side, aged 66 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Delfino Rosas who died in 2008.

She was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Julio and Candida (Alginzoni) Rodriguez. Antonia received her education in the Cidra school system.

Antonia came to the United States in 1973, and settled in Lowell, where she met Delfino. They married in 1985.

Antonia loved to take long walks. Her favorite food was Mexican, especially tamales. She loved listening to old school Mexican music like El Puma and Juan Gabriel, and was a masterful salsa dancer.

Always smiling, she had a big heart and loved to help everyone and anyone. Antonia enjoyed telling amazing stories from her childhood and also told the best jokes. A beautiful person inside and out, she was a devoted mother and a loyal friend. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful, loving person who will be deeply missed.

Antonia is survived by two sons, Kevin Rosas and his partner Diana Lopez, and Lee M. Rosas, all of Lowell, and a daughter, Idaliz Rodriguez of Lowell. Also a brother, Efrain Rodriguez, and four sisters, Julia Rodriguez, Alizia Rodriguez, Amparo Rodriguez and Irma Rodriguez, all of Puerto Rico. Seven grandchildren, Leiannalyse S. Rosas, Aleena E. Rosas, Aylanee E. Rosas, Luis F. Paulino, Graciela Paulino, Jaleel Lazu and Darianna L. Rosas.
