Loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Uncle

Joseph M. “Joey” Geoffroy, 65, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully on May 25, 2019, in Lowell, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with early-onset Alzheimer's. He was the husband of Mary (Gill) Geoffroy, with whom he would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in September.

Born in Lowell, August 11, 1953, he was a son of the late Leo and Mary (Kondziolka) Geoffroy. He received his early education in the Lowell School System and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1972. Joey went on to earn an Associate Degree in Business from Essex Agricultural College.

Mary and Joey knew each other for many years, and began dating in 1974. They married on September 23, 1977, and settled in Lowell to raise their family.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Joey entered the family business - Geoffroy’s Service and Towing, located in the Highlands of Lowell. Over the years, he honed his skills as a master mechanic, taking great pride in offering the best service around, and always putting his customers first.

He was a former longtime member of the Mount Pleasant Golf Club in Lowell. He enjoyed fishing and skiing, and especially loved taking trips to Las Vegas. Most of all, he was happiest when spending time with his beloved wife Mary, and cherished son Michael.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael J. Geoffroy and his fiancée Alyssa L. Finneral, and a brother, Richard R. Geoffroy and his wife Debra, all of Lowell. Sisters-in-law, Barbara Geoffroy, Patti Sepe and her husband Matt, Katie Gill, Kerry Gill, Roberta Barnes and her husband Bucky, and Tracy Reilly and her husband Peter, a brother-in-law, Charlie Gill, and many nieces and nephews, including a special Godson, Christopher Gill. He was the brother of the late James L. Geoffroy.
