Obituary for Judith P. Krantweiss (Soffer)

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother

Judy (Soffer) Krantweiss, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, entered into rest on February 25, 2021, in Boston, after a brief illness. Judy recently celebrated her 77th birthday on December 9, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Jerry Krantweiss, with whom she had shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Max and Elsa (Weiss) Soffer. She was raised and received her education in Philadelphia, PA. This is also where she met her husband, Jerry, who was her neighbor. While growing up in Philadelphia, she began her love of animals, which continued throughout her life.

After marrying in 1965, she followed Jerry on his Air Force assignments to Dayton, OH, Albuquerque, NM, and Chelmsford, MA, where they finally settled in in 1973. After they raised their children, they enjoyed traveling by cruise ships to destinations such as Alaska and Europe.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Debbie Miller and her husband Rob of Reading, a son, Jeff Krantweiss and his wife Becky of State College, PA, and four grandsons, RJ Miller, Jacob Krantweiss, Sam Krantweiss, and Ben Krantweiss. Judy’s pride and joy has always been her children and grandchildren.

Judy’s Graveside Service was held at Temple Beth El Cemetery, Chelmsford. Arrangements are in the care of the MORSE-BAYLISS Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Boulevard, Lowell. Funeral Director, Frederick W. Healy. Please visit Judy’s life tribute at
